The half-saree that I chose to design is called “The Mangrove Flower Half-Saree”, which was derived from the beautiful places in Fitzroy Crossing and the Indian culture. My design consists of a green top and green skirt to symbolize the landscape of the Kimberly region, while the red shawl has been designed to symbolize the mangrove flower which is found in Fitzroy Crossing. The red flowers on the saree indicate my connection with the local surroundings, whereas the gold line at the end of the skirt symbolizes Indian culture.
