Artist statement: This image conveys body/gender issues among teenagers. The images were created by the model standing by a sheer thin sheet with a light positioned behind to create a shadowy figure. The shadow hides the true body shape of the model and their gender. I manipulated it to look thinner or wider based on how I positioned my model and the light. The images are all dark contrasting against each other with only one containing text. The dark images represent the place where some teenagers go to hide away from their body/gender issues. The text was chosen specifically to just be seen over the figure. I manipulated these photos in Photoshop with the use of Nik Collection filters such as silver effects pro and changing the levels.
