Artist statement: My artwork is inspired by the Australian hyperrealist CJ Hendry. I started by taking a series of photos of blobs of paint to determine what hues work well. One difficulty I faced working with colour pencils was blending to bring out the values and depth of the paint blob to produce the illusion of three-dimensional form.
