Artist statement: ‘Untitled’ explores beauty and life through a series of mixed media paintings. The subject matter varies, ranging from small, refined portraits to more abstract, expressionistic compositions – all of which explore beauty within life. The close-up studies of moths are intended to challenge ideas of beauty. Moths are often overlooked and deemed inferior to their butterfly cousin; their presence within the work is intended to stand as a gentle reminder of beauty in all its forms.
