Artist statement: We referenced the work of artists such as Claes Oldenburg, Wayne Thiebaud, Ed Bing Lee, Charlotte Smith and Camilla Valdez. We thought about what desserts we liked and what materials would add to each dessert. The abundance of food, the amazing colours and textures, and the simplicity of the forms – in this age of many television cooking shows, with an emphasis on plating and presentation, we explored the ways that this changes our idea of good food.
