The Battle

Medium: Wood and wire

Artist statement: A battle between two figures can be looked at in different ways: a god versus a titan; a knight fighting a giant; a superhero versus a super-villain – or on a deeper level as a man struggling against his inner demons. I built the two figures from wire, giving them articulation in all their joints and allowing them to be twisted and bent without snapping. They can be posed in different positions, changing the narrative – making the story whatever you want it to be. The possibilities are almost limitless.
