My artwork, Pulp Fiction is an oil on canvas exploring the organic form, colour, and texture of papayas through an enlarged composition, inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe and her use of magnification. I used the grid method to transfer my reference image, then built the painting with a ground layer and a transparent underpainting in browns and oranges to establish tone. I applied warm oranges and yellows for the base, followed by darker tones to create contrast, especially in the seeds. Through layering, blending, and refining edges, I developed three-dimensional form, adding highlights to suggest light and texture while deepening the background to create spatial depth and emphasis.
