In my series Knots, I explore identity through the lens of a tree, with swirling clouds and a glowing moon as its backdrop. The textured knots and grain of wood symbolise the scars and experiences of our past that define us. The wind and water represent the people and influences that shape our journeys, nurturing and eroding us equally. Through the relationship of light and shadow, I invite viewers to reflect on their own stories, finding the beauty in the scars that tell of growth and resilience. Knots celebrates the complexity of our shared human experience, showing how our lives are parallel with nature. Each print is slightly different, indication that although we all undergo similar events in our lives, we are all unique as well.
