Textiles with yarn, fabric and wire.

My artwork showcases all the different colours and details that make coral reefs beautiful and unique. I used a mixture of fabric, wire and yarn to create interesting textures and a variety of colours. Additionally, I utilised different techniques to create variety. Some I already knew, such as crochet, wrapping and pom-pom making, whereas others I learnt during the workshop, including rug tufting and weaving wheels. Despite the bright colours on the majority of the wire frame, I also included a streak of white cutting through the middle, to represent the bleaching occurring to many reefs at the hands of humans.
