My artwork, ‘Us’ is a representation of my family and my connection with my three younger siblings and my responsibilities as an older sister.

I took my own reference photo to accurately capture the bonds between us and how I reflect so heavily onto my brothers and sisters. I completed my art piece with oil paints and intense focus on the vibrancy of the colours reflected on our faces to develop symbolism within my artwork for how I create an impact on each of them. I chose to use bright and saturated colours to express the strength of our love for each other and my immense care for my siblings.

‘Us’ captures my experience as an older sister with the ongoing feelings of responsibility for my younger siblings.
