My work ‘Acacia’ aims to capture the beautiful qualities of wattle (acacia). I used gestural strokes to create abstracted marks. I painted pockets of detail on top of a gestural background. My background consists of purple tones which creates a stark contrast against the yellow wattle. My aim when creating this work was to elicit an emotional response of tranquility and comfort from the viewer as if they were in that setting and experience.
