Charcoal on Canvas with Mixed Media
W 122cm / H 91.5cm
This multimedia installation explores my experience and perception of the world as an individual on the autism spectrum.
Set within the bustling environment of a train station, the foundational charcoal drawing captures a chaotic, fast-paced environment. By projecting full-colour images of myself onto monochromatic, static surroundings, the work visualises the profound sense of isolation and variance I feel in public spaces. The accompanying audio of the station heightens this sensory experience, illustrating how the world moves rapidly around me rather than with me. Ultimately, this piece reflects a personal reality: the feeling of living at a completely different tempo and time signature to the rest of society.
