Children should not have to experience abandonment and the anxiety that accompanies it. Through the eyes of a young adult, I have explored these past traumas, and wanted to share the experience of neglect and abandonment. I chose to work in a variety of styles, using expressive techniques, intuition and gestural brush strokes to manipulate the monochrome palette. I was inspired by the work of Tom French whose monochromatic work is driven by his efforts to engage with the subconscious.
