Capturing the Natural World

Dry point etching

My artwork is an arrangement of elements drawn from the natural environment and manufactured objects. It symbolises humankind ‘capturing’ the natural world both in a photograph and physically in cages. The meaning behind my piece is that we should capture the beauty of the environment through art, rather than trying to control it. Controlling wildlife and other living things will lead to complications that humankind is not ready to face.
