Artist statement: Although from far away the turtle looks powerful, with a superhero’s cape, looking closer it is the opposite; the turtle carries a weight, made of rubbish, on its back. Us humans struggle to understand that everything is not okay in the depths of the oceans, we care too much about our own selves to realise what is going on.
