Artist statement: I have made a soft sculpture of a native Western Australian bird, using recycled materials. The idea was to represent the bird as deceased, with the sewing of the form creating an almost mummified version of my chosen bird. I used a range of materials and worked with simple tools such as sewing needles and pliers to create my carefully crafted work.
