Artist statement: Photography is my passion and my work often has a dark tonal quality. This image uses symbolism to tell a story, I admired Irving Penn’s photographic work and used his technique of telling a story through objects, leading the viewer but not giving everything away but creating curiosity. The simplicity of black and white further enhances the narrative and dark theme. Whose foot print is it? Why is the window open? These are questions I want the viewer to ask and go away with their own idea.
