Artist statement: Littering and irresponsible waste disposal is rapidly becoming a chronic epidemic, poisoning our oceans. I demonstrated this by making my subjects bright and colourful with a dark message behind. I used a mixture of coloured pencils, graphite and ink to create this contrast between light and dark.
