Artist statement: My artwork addresses the theme of domestic violence. A large eye dominates the composition, from which a tear emerges. Upon closer inspection, the silhouette of a woman being struck by her partner becomes visible in the reflection on the pupil. The image sits against collaged newspaper articles that include cases and statistics that reflect this troubling issue.
