Artist statement: This image is a scanograph. I placed flowers on to the scanner and then laid my face against it with my mouth open so it looked like the flowers were coming out of my mouth. I then edited the scanned image in Photoshop by selecting my face and the flowers and inverted the selection to colour the background black. I then inverted the selection back to adjust the colour of the flowers using hue and saturation, vibrance and brightness and contrast. I also cropped the image to balance the space. The task was to focus on camera-less photography and scanography was one of the techniques we explored.
