Artist statement: This work explores the damage that human kind is inflicting on the earth and imagines a time when the destruction is so great that people no longer exist. A once-bustling city sits below a bright blue sky. The sky slowly darkens, suggesting an ominous atmosphere. A single tree standing as a reminder of what once was begins to grow and blossom, reclaiming its urban surroundings. Then slowly it withers and dies as the devastation of the environment is finally realised.
