Artist statement: Our home’s home is a sculpture that represents my feelings about life. The bears symbolise nature, which we are taking for granted, and they are trying valiantly to stay afloa. The wooden people emerging from the boat represent the importance of our actions because we are all part of one world. We are the apex predators and have a responsibility to keep that boat afloat. The environment we live in, including its animals and plants, should be treated the same way we treat ourselves. We should be supporting nature but we aren’t.
