Artist statement: I wanted my artwork to show the growth of the karri forest in relation to the shape of the human body. The lower half is made up of roots, leaves and shrubs; all very compacted, similar to the forest floor. The upper half is more liberal and branches out, much like tree branches and tendrils. Mostly, I intended my artwork to show how nature is constructed by living organisms.
