Artist statement: My self portrait uses tonal differences and contrasting forms of black and white to extenuate the details in the human face. The concept of the piece is heavily inspired by portraits done by Max Gasparini as it similarly uses techniques found in his art such as black and white palettes with heavy brush strokes of paint and uneven lines surrounding the main details of the face.
