Artist statement: This artwork was inspired by Australia’s native plants. Our task was to create a lino print based on Australian flora and fauna. Through focusing on the detail, I celebrated the presence of unique Australian plants and nature’s beauty. I created a focal point through powerful use of the elements of art, particularly space and line. I used diagonal lines radiating around the focal point by repeating a seed motif. The pattern leads the viewer’s eye to the focal point in the centre.
