“Jack”

Artist statement: “Jack” is a portrait that I took to draw back into using Wacom tablets. The background is dark in contrast to emphasise his face and the tonal qualities created with the Wacom tablet and brush tools in Photoshop. I had to use the eyedropper tool to match the colours in the face and used several brushes and adjusted the opacity and hardness to work with tonal qualities. To take the photograph I had to set up studio lighting, dark backdrop and metre the lighting to create an even lighting effect. I feel the image represents Jack’s personality, especially the hair!
