Artist statement: During this project we drew inspiration from artist Sonja Pulido. We designed and created ceramic portraits based on paper dolls, including moving parts. We then embellished our dolls with patterning and imagery that related to our identity (ourselves) and objects that hold significant personal meaning for each of us.
