Watercolour Pencil on Paper
50cm × 60cm
This artwork is a detailed botanical study created using watercolour pencils. My intention was to capture the intricate beauty of natural forms while exploring the rich colours, textures and delicate structures found in flowers and plants.
To achieve this, I used a layering technique, gradually building multiple transparent layers of watercolour pencil to create depth, richness and subtle tonal variation. This process enabled me to develop vibrant colours, smooth transitions and realistic detail, giving the botanical subject a bold yet refined appearance. Careful observation of shape, line and texture helped me accurately represent the plant’s organic qualities.
Through this artwork, I aim to celebrate the complexity and elegance of nature while demonstrating patience, precision and attention to detail in my artistic practice.
