Growing up Asian and experiencing the richness of Asian culture has been a wonderful blessing. From celebrating Lunar New Year to enjoying meals lovingly prepared by my parents, every tradition and ingredient carries a story of history, identity and flavour. Inspired by the saying, “the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach,” I created a ceramic totem pole featuring essential Asian ingredients commonly found in favourite Eastern dishes. Through this artwork, I hope to spark curiosity about the richness of Asian culture and encourage viewers to appreciate the traditions, stories and shared experiences that shape who we are.
