This vertical still life painting, completed in oil for a school assignment, features a traditional blue floral Chinese teacup as its focal point—a deliberate choice to reflect cultural representation. I employed a blend of expressionism and realism to capture the essence of the subject. I’m especially pleased with the controlled detail in the teacup and the clear vase, which I feel adds depth and clarity to the composition. Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the final result—though I must admit, I have a strong dislike for painting lids.
