Turangga is a tribute to my cultural roots, memories, and identity. Named after the Javanese word for a noble horse, it symbolizes pride and personal truth. Inspired by the Java pony, it recalls my childhood rides in horse-drawn carts—simple, joyful moments that shaped me. Draped in batik, a fabric I rarely wear since moving to Australia, the sculpture honors my Indonesian heritage. Vintage-style jewelry adds timeless elegance, echoing Javanese tradition. Symbolically, the horse reflects my true self—strong, calm, and free. Turangga is about identity’s journey, how it evolves yet stays rooted in home. It’s a step toward self-acceptance, carrying my past, hopes, and truth.
