My artwork, ‘Pnut’, explores expression and family. The artwork is a hand drawn animation with 50 frames depicting my sister tying up her hair and throwing a discus. This shows a traditionally feminine and masculine side to my sister, exploring the intricacies of expression that I thought would be the main meaning of the work, however, I discovered deeper meaning during its creation. My creative journey led to an exploration of my family and our shared traits. Our passion, ambition, humour, perfectionism, but also support. I chose the name ‘Pnut’ as it is my sister’s nickname that started as a joke for no particular reason, perfectly representing my family and the work’s discovered meaning.
