My piece, Numbats, features four numbats surrounded by iconic Australian flora like Golden Wattle. I used bright inks, simple shadows, and layered foliage to create depth and a cartoonish style. The piece is framed to define its edges. It began with a zoo trip, where I sketched animals in charcoal. I painted with ink, added gouache highlights, then transferred my design to a lino block. After carving and test printing, I manually printed the final image and added colour with drawing ink. I aimed to capture the uniqueness of Australian wildlife. I’m proud of the vibrant inking and how the numbats stand out.
