This portrait is of my little brother Michael, he is six years younger than me and full of life. In this piece I wanted to capture emotion and detail. The process of this artwork started with trying to capture a photo reference, I must have taken over fifty photos looking for one that stuck out to me. This portrait is done in oils on canvas, using a brunaille underpainting and then adding colour. I also used dry brushing and glazing techniques. I admire Michael because he is so resilient, pure, and true to himself.
