‘Butoh’ is based on the Taiwanese artist and performer, ‘Nymphia Wind’ who is in traditional Japanese attire.

As one of my favourite ‘Queens’, I chose to paint her because her artistic style and formal dance appeals to me. Nymphia’s traditional beauty and confident poise is something I want to convey in her personality. Her sense of individuality and uniqueness is something I aspire to emulate.
