This pencil drawing focuses closely on the neck and head of a chicken, captured in a realistic style. For our class task, we were asked to draw a bird of our choice, and I chose the chicken because I found the textures of its throat and feathers really interesting to explore. I focused on the delicate layering of feathers and the subtle curve of the beak, using careful shading to show how light shapes each detail. My favourite part is the eye — especially the small highlight that brings it to life.
