This piece captures the rugged beauty of Arizona’s landscape at sunset focussing on the contrast of light and shadow across its mountainous terrain. I used a warm palette of pinks, oranges and purples. I wanted to highlight the dramatic and serene atmosphere of the desert. Through bold and painterly brushstrokes, this artwork emphasises the texture and form of the natural landscape while inviting the viewer to experience a fleeting, still movement in a vast expanse.
