Butterflies and moths commonly represent the concept of death and rebirth. I wanted to use the irony of a butterfly that has gone through metamorphosis but is now pinned on a board as a representation of my struggles with depression, anxiety and undiagnosed neurodivergence. These conditions have impacted me throughout high school.
