Inspired by (G)I-DLE’s ‘Tomboy’, my digital illustration reflects the song’s message of challenging the stereotypes imposed by society. While ‘tomboy’ typically refers to a girl who presents themself in a ‘boyish’ fashion, I re-imagine the meaning to be a person who simply doesn’t limit themselves according to gender norms, embracing unconventionality and fluidity. Despite being targeted by the dangers of prejudice and expectations, this person remains undeterred and continues to be their authentic self.
