In this piece I wanted to show the beauty I see in my brother, despite his manic depression, to depict a sense of exquisiteness in what society sees as ‘broken’. He, a young male, shackled and held down by chains under the fierce eye of society’s judgement, only seeing him for his flaws and labelled condition and not for the molten gold that runs within him. Despite his imprisonments, he feels no envy when a pair of beautiful doves visit him, and gifts them with the only thing he has left to offer, his tears. It is my brother’s unprejudiced love that I admire most of all about him.
