‘Twins’ was developed as part of an experimental process. The two figures are studies of characters that appear in my other piece created over Year 12. The compositon is a close-up internal scene of a bustling subway train, where ‘twins’ gaze at you like eagles, evoking the sense that you are being watched, judged and persecuted. The artwork deals with the paranoia I often feel when in public, and the feeling of claustrophobia in crowded public transportation. The twins are the embodiment of this feeling.
