The term ‘soul tie’ usually refers to two souls united in the spiritual realm. Sometimes that tie is binding us to a person we don’t want to be bound to, someone hampering our efforts to move ahead in life. This artwork is about the soul ties between people in bad relationships, some even violent. The man is slowly burning the woman, which represents the hate-fuelled arguments that erupt in toxic relationships, the ones which cause irreparable damage.
