This triple self portrait is a depiction of how it feels to create. To make art, I apply all my technical skills, yet it means nothing without natural talent and passion for creating. ‘Pyramid’ is about how artists put a little bit of themselves into every work they produce, and all the aspects of getting a piece to a point where we are satisfied. The composition is appropriated from P. Jovanic’s ‘Decoration of The Bride’ [1935], and the themes are inspired by F.Kahlo’s ‘Two Fridas’, while technique is reminiscent of M.Carravagio’s chiaroscuro. This painting is a culmination of many artistic inspirations, portraying my feelings and ideas about the creating process.
