‘Home’ focuses on the theme of domestic violence within the household, specifically the issue of witnessing abuse as a child. My artwork centres on a young child, who represents innocence and purity, witnessing domestic abuse. The arms, one grabbing the other, symbolise emotional and physical control. By placing vivid imagery of abuse within the eye, I am symbolising how witnesses are shaped and defined by the abusive moments in their lives.
