I often think about memories. It’s interesting how I can’t remember some of the key moments in my life and yet I remember playing out the back as a kid. We have no control of what our minds keep or discard. The moment depicted in my painting was a year or so ago. My close family friend and I were sitting on the floor at the foot of her bed, talking. I look back on that memory fondly, though I never expected to remember the moment so vividly, let alone paint it.
