‘People on the Train’ was developed through experimentation with media and processes such as graphite pencil sketches, watercolour, acrylic on paper and lino print, along with visual influences drawn from Alex Gross’ art. The piece depicts the interior of a bustling subway train, with some people appearing normal in this setting and some looking very out of place. The painting is from my perspective, as someone with anxiety, where the perception of reality can often morph into paranoid, delusional thoughts – a sense that everyone is watching and criticising, when in reality, they are not.
