I based my mixed-media piece on a still life drawing of dried flowers. The materials I used included acrylic, pyrography and screen printing paste. I simplified my final designs, then used the Riso machine to produce a stencil. This allowed me to print the designs several times, employing repetition within the composition. An important focus was on using layers in different mediums in order to create an interesting transparent, floating effect. The creation of focal points in the finished work was particularly important.
