In our project, we explored different portraiture techniques, with an equal emphasis on understanding tone and communicating emotions. This self-portrait was influenced by artist Adrien Patout. Our class was introduced to a variety of acrylic-based techniques exploring paint application – from subtle tonal washes to heavy impasto painting.
